Testing
Hi , hopefully it is possible to visit very soon from the UK. If coronavirus testing is required for return, where would that be in the area?
Many thanks

Latest UK rules, issued 17th September. This relates to travellers who show proof of having received both vaccinations.
As from 4.0am, Monday 4th October there is no requirement for pre travel test for return. That’s me and Mrs. We fly at 4.30pm that day so saves me €40 each for lateral flow test at Clinica Vida, Los Cristianos. As usual the government complicates things for arrival in UK. You will need a PCR test on the day of arrival or no later than the second day. I already pre booked at Randox Health. Only £55 each!
Then they say that requirement will be removed later in October. A travel ‘expert’ on tv just said, “the end of October”. Families thinking of booking for half term are no better informed.

Getting there aren't we! What's the current position traveling out there and you're double jabbed? What's required do we know?
Let's hope soon we can just go like we used to.
Hope everyone ok in the area.

You need the Spanish Travel Health form. spTH. I downloaded to phone and also printed the forms.
Download the NHS app, complete your details and it will find you. Go to the travel health section. It shows your dates of Covid vaccinations and manufacturer. I printed this too. Definite requirement at airport check in. We are with Jet2 and the ‘boarding pass’ you download is only an authority to be issued with the real thing once they have checked those forms. At Tenerife there were officials in white coats checking the spTH forms. Recent travellers have said they got through without being checked.
Was a right faff, took me hours to navigate the websites, and that’s just for two of us. Once here, it’s worth it. Weather is great (maybe a bit warm at 30 plus). Plenty of places open, the excursions are running and it’s still cheaper than UK.

Don’t know the answer. Many hotels are still closed and have taken the opportunity to do complete refurbishment. Best to check their websites. Sanasty car rental Andrew is on YouTube as Knightstrider. He gives the most informative up to date info on what’s going on. Latest news item is that following the advertised removal of restrictions travel bookings for half term are up by thousands. Those parents have rushed in without understanding that PCR testing is still required on return to UK until some unknown date at the end of October. Unlikely that the travel companies will warn them at the booking stage. There’ll be an outcry when they discover the truth. Maybe the ‘government’ will realise they cocked up again and relent. Just for info, here at Los Cristianos a pint of beer on promenade bars is still one euro. Three course meal, €8.95. I paid £69 a week for car rental, CItroen C4 Cactus, booked last March from Auto Reisen. Cheaper than renting two bikes. (It’s a lot more now). Petrol is €1.03 a litre.
