UK GHIC card
After coming to tenerife for over 30 years, fortunately, this is the first time I have needed to seek medical assistance. Please be aware that although the public hospital will accept the UK GHIC card they insist on Spanish speaking or an interpreter even though they engaged in a long conversation with me in English explaining that they do not understand and that they cannot do dialogue through a phone app translater and that if I wanted to be seen I would need to go off and come back with a translater.
A fair bit of crystal clear English being spoken to me in this dialogue alone.
Proof enough that they do speak English.
It appears that they don’t really want to treat you here at the public hospitals and are pushing you to pay for the private hospital or at least pay some kind of money out, even if it’s to a translater.
