Worried about travelling

Hi, I visit tenerife at least once a year since 1995 and never go all inclusive as I prefer to eat out and support local restaurants, I am due to travel on Monday 6th May, my friend just returned after a two week break and said it was very worrying about the protests, they witnessed British shops and restaurants having their windows smashed, bars refusing british tourists any service, can you confirm if this is the case.
