Do I need a solicitor for an appointment purchase .the agent selling the apartment said this can be done vie themselves thanks

Hi l purchased my property and the estate agent did most everything however l was glad l had my solicitor to make sure all was in order ln my opinion l think it's the wiser choice . My Solicitor had very good English he works in Adeje but also does a lot of work in Santa Cruz in the north .
